Clients suffering from ankle pain can use the new self-referral option launched by MSK Doctors in London to schedule their own appointments at the private clinic, with no waiting list, regardless of if they have a referral from their GP.

The new self-referral program is open to all new and returning clients, and appointments can be scheduled either through the clinic’s online portal or over the phone. While individual appointments may vary, using the no-waiting list policy, it is often possible for clients to schedule near-immediate appointments and receive results in as little as 24 hours after their visit.
While the clinic offers a full range of traditional treatments for most conditions, they also offer a selection of “regenerative medicine” treatments that are not available in most clinics. These techniques are well-researched and proven both safe and effective, and they are often considered less invasive than the traditional options.
As a private clinic, MSK Doctors have access to innovative diagnostic equipment that is not available anywhere else in the county. Using their Open MRI scanner, clients can access detailed medical scans, which do not give off any ionizing radiation. This advanced scanner type also allows for novel types of imaging, such as a Dynamic Scan, which shows how a particular joint appears while it is in motion.
Clients can schedule diagnostic scans for up to three areas of the body per visit, though each additional scan will add approximately 45 minutes to their appointment. After their scans are completed, each client will receive a digital copy of their MRI, a consultant radiologist report, and a referral to one of the clinic’s musculoskeletal specialists, at a preferred rate.
While the full results of the analysis will be contained in the report, clients may also schedule a one-on-one consultation with a specialist to review their results. These appointments can be scheduled as online meetings using a screen-sharing app, or clients can meet with the clinic’s Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in person, to go over their results slide-by-slide.
A spokesperson for the clinic explained, “Trauma can cause damage to the cartilage in your ankle. If left untreated it can lead to osteoarthritis which will make every step you take painful. There are new treatment techniques which means that it may be possible to regenerate the damaged cartilage.”
