Alpharetta psychology practice, Positive Living Psychotherapy, welcomes a new counselor to the therapy team. Taylor Trussell, Associate Professional Counselor, is now accepting clients at the North Point area office.
Taylor specializes in treating trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), insomnia, depression and anxiety using evidence-based approaches. He also has an interest in men’s issues and extensive experience working with clients who have avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). He possesses a certification in SMART (Self-Management and Recovery Training), which helps people manage compulsive and addictive behaviors. Taylor is also a Certified Autism Specialist.
Taylor earned a master’s degree in counseling psychology and a doctorate in philosophy. He welcomes adolescents and clients of all ages to his practice.
“I work with clients of any age and with any background to identify thought patterns, emotions and behaviors that prevent them from being their best selves,” said Taylor. “My counseling services at Positive Living Psychotherapy will provide a safe and welcoming environment for clients to address a range of issues so they can achieve healing and enhanced well-being.”
Taylor directed intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs and worked in residential facilities before joining Positive Living Psychotherapy. With previous careers as a college professor and a marketing consultant, Taylor draws from a broad range of experiences to meet his clients where they are.
In the Alpharetta counseling practice, Taylor joins Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist Jessica Bassett and Clinical Psychologist Maureen Keown who opened Positive Living Psychotherapy in 2005. Keown’s practice is based on the therapeutic philosophy that as people become more aware and accepting of themselves, they are more capable of finding a sense of peace and contentment in their lives.
“At Positive Living Psychotherapy, our goal is to help clients start living their best lives, and Taylor’s skills, education and background are an excellent fit for our practice,” said Keown. “Being able to add a new counselor of the highest caliber to the Positive Living therapy team is an important service to our clients and the Alpharetta community.”
