The clinic’s announcement coincides with the American Optometric Association’s (AOA) recent report about the increasing number of patients suffering from dry eye. The AOA explained that this can be directly attributed to eye strain, decreased blink rate, and incomplete blinking caused by constant exposure to computer screens.

BlephEx is an in-office procedure that alleviates the symptoms of blepharitis or swollen eyelids. According to ClearVision Institute, IPL therapy is effective for moderate to severe dry eye that is caused by ocular rosacea or problems with the Meibomian gland. It delivers pulses of light in the periocular area which reduces redness and inflammation.
