Scottsdale, AZ – At the center of the Main Street galleries is The Marshall Gallery, a contemporary art studio that displays the artwork of talented artists. Housed in an open space, the gallery allows visitors to browse the ever-changing collection, immerse themselves in the beauty of the art pieces, or seek assistance from expert art consultants for the perfect purchases.
As Scottsdale’s Top Art Gallery, the consultants boast a diverse collection of exceptional art created by 70 world-class artists. On Thursday, June 9th, 2022, visitors will get a chance to interact with artists Elena Golberg, Joseph Maruska, and Harper Henry at the Summer ArtWalk event. During the event, visitors will enjoy an evening of lively conversations, live painting demonstrations, and complimentary beverages from 5 pm – 9 pm.
Elena Golberg credits her passion for art to the Russian realistic art traditions taught by Soviet painters. After earning her fine arts degree, she taught painting, art history, composition, sculpture, and drawing for 14 years before moving to the US in 2004. Elena became intrigued with Native American culture and painted many Native American portraits that were displayed at the Scottsdale Salon of Fine Art in 2011. Currently, Elena sketches in the Arizona desert, where she polishes the movements of the Saguaros’ muscular branches and trunks.
Joseph Maruska gracefully colors and draws lines that glide across a painting, providing viewers with endless interpretations and perceptions. He paints his graceful landscapes on a textured ground, where strong forms take shape in an earthen palette of velvety browns, arrays of blues, and earthen palettes of golden ochres that often translate into flowing bodies of water or a piece of atmospheric sky. Joseph’s keen awareness of what he visualizes, and the viewer’s experience has resonated with the public. His abstract-realist art pieces have been widely collected and received many awards.
While Harper Henry has a deep appreciation for the traditional, realistic painting styles of the great masters, she creates a painting style that feels more alive. Her journey into exploring the relationship between realism and abstraction has allowed her to be an award-winning artist renowned for creating vibrant, realistic paintings that focus on historical western figures and horses. With each new piece, she pushes the artistic boundaries by finding new ways of looking at the classical subject matter. By experimenting with styles that cause the past and present to collide, most of her pieces evoke a sense of movement or reemergence.
The Marshall Gallery was founded in 1998 by Attorney DeeAn Gillespie.
